What does the government offer, and Why Does it Matter?

Seeking out help can be scary, but we want to make mental health a comfortable topic of conversation. Fortunately, the government of New Brunswick offers mental health services to youth which they call “Integrated Service Delivery” (New Brunswick Canada, n.d). This allows the government, schools, and community to provide the best services available. Paired with Bridge the Gapp, Horizon, and Vitalité, the province seeks to aid any youth experiencing emotional, behavioral, mental health, or addiction issues. It’s important for youth experiencing a crisis to know they’re not alone, these services are made to foster positive perspectives on mental health and urge anyone to seek out help.

Services like crisis intervention, counseling, support groups, medication management, and awareness programs are all available to youth and can be found below. It’s important to learn and understand coping skills and techniques that will help you. More importantly, your safety is why accessing these services when needed is essential. They can be life-saving, and the earlier you seek out these services the better your quality of life will be. If you are facing a crisis, dial 1(866)-355-5550 for addiction and mental health helplines or 1(800)-668-6868 for the kids help phone.

A great resource for people of all ages, especially teens is Bridge The Gapp. Bridge The Gapp is a website that provides information and resources for people struggling with mental health. This website educates readers about mental health. This can help you understand more about what you may be going through. Another interesting attribute, this website discusses the several different forms of help they provide. This goes from taking a “mood meter” that can positively affect you, all the way to coping tips. Some other forms of help you can get from this company are different online programs for mental health and separate sections for things like music, books, and even photos. Lastly, one of their best attributes has to be the different website layouts provided for the youth. Once you click on the “For Youth” tab, you will see some different information under each link. This information is slightly more geared to the youth and what seems more understandable for them. This website is a great resource to check out! Below, you can go directly to either the
